Diversity: Embracing Differences in the Workplace

Cultural diversity is an important part of today’s workforce. This session provides supervisors and non-supervisory participants the opportunity to increase cultural and cross-cultural awareness and develop a better understanding of diversity and social change. Participants will learn the value of the differences in people and how cultural diversity can work to benefit themselves and everyone within the workplace. We will explore how to build foundations for teamwork and resolve conflicts by focusing on the common goal that can result in more positive attitudes.

We present methods to enhance communications and interactions when responding to differences in the workplace that help to create a more respectful work environment. Participants will gain an understanding of accommodation requirements and the business’s responsibility to ensure the workplace is free from discrimination and harassment.
